Safety Tips for Sharing Toys

Check small parts, batteries, cleanliness and age suitability. If unsure, do not list the toy.

Sharing toys can cut clutter, but child safety is not a “it still looks fun” judgement.

Direct answer Check breakage, small parts, loose magnets, battery doors and dirt. State the intended age. If you cannot confirm origin or you suspect a recall, do not share the toy.

Checks - Sharp edges and loose eyes or buttons. - Button-battery compartments should stay locked. A swollen battery should not be given or lent. - Dirt traps, and whether a recently ill child used it without cleaning. - Damaged cables on powered toys.

Communication The recipient still decides whether the toy suits their child. You cannot certify that a toy meets a national standard.

Limits This is general information, not legal advice, a safety inspection, or an environmental audit. Check local rules, item safety and any numbers yourself.
