How to Give Away Items Safely

Meet in public, describe defects honestly, and never share a precise address or payment link.

Giving an unused item a second life should not require you to take unnecessary personal risk. LoopSwap does not collect the item, deliver it, or guarantee the other person’s identity.

Direct answer Use real photos, meet in a public place, and never send a precise address, ID number or payment link. If a conversation feels wrong, stop and use in-app report tools.

Before you publish - Confirm the item is still safe to use and not in a prohibited category. - Show wear, accessories and defects. Stock photos are not a substitute for the actual item. - Choose giveaway. The product does not support priced resale.

While you chat Keep time and place in the in-app thread. Do not move the chat to a channel that asks for transfers or unknown QR codes. A request for a deposit or “shipping fee” is a warning: the official product does not handle cash.

At the handoff Prefer daylight and a busy public place. You can bring someone with you. After the handoff, pause or archive the listing from My listings. The platform will not certify that both sides inspected the item.

If you post it Record a tracking number yourselves. Current LoopSwap does not book a carrier or collect postage.

Limits This is general information, not legal advice, a safety inspection, or an environmental audit. Check local rules, item safety and any numbers yourself.
