How to Describe Items for Sharing

Real photos, condition and accessory notes prevent most back-and-forth.

Author: LoopSwap Editorial · Published 2026-10-26 · Updated 2026-10-26

A clear listing prevents most misunderstandings. The live publish form already includes title, description, mode, category, condition, accessories and visible defects.

Direct answer Photograph the actual item and state what it can do, what it cannot do, and what is missing. Do not promise services LoopSwap does not offer, such as warranty handling or on-site inspection.

Photos Photos are optional, up to 12. A whole-item shot, a wear shot and an accessories shot help most. Location metadata is stripped on upload. You can publish without photos, but requesters will guess more. Rejected images do not appear on the public page.

Copy - Put the item and a key limit in the title, such as “3-person tent, no pegs”. - Describe use, smell, damage and who it suits. - Pick the closest condition. Do not call visible wear “like new”. - List missing accessories in the accessory note.

Location Use a coarse region. Precise coordinates stay hidden by default and should not be pasted into the description.

Extra fields for swap and borrow Swaps need what you hope to receive. Borrows need availability and a return expectation. Damage is settled offline. The platform does not hold a deposit.

Limits This page matches the current publish form. Planned features are not documented as if they already exist.
